NDI Solutions Optical-based Real-time Eye-Head Tracking

Sara/Editor  From:NDI  Hit:  2012-2-6

Problem
Determining point of gaze information from data collected with an ASL eye-tracker previously required time consuming frame-by-frame examination of video data.

While the Optotrak Certus system can provide real-time data that allows you track a subject's head position and orientation, there was no practical method for determining the 3D coordinate of the subject's point of gaze - until now!

Solution
Long range, high accuracy, real-time eye-head integration is now available from NDI and ASL.

By combining and synchronizing head location and orientation information from the Optotrak Certus with pupil orientation information from the ASL eye-tracker, the 3D coordinate of the subject's point of gaze can now be easily determined in real-time.

Benefits
Eye-gaze information is stored digitally and can be quickly processed to determine the behaviour of your test subject.

Additional information can be captured synchronously with the eye-gaze information, such as:
• position, orientation, velocity and acceleration of body segments or objects within the environment
• digital or analogue signals from other reseARCh equipment (i.e. emg signals, force plate signals)
