ASL’s Binocular head mounted optics - 18 oz. - can be configured on our adjustable headband or attached to our forehead/chinrest.

The H6-HS-BN Optics are configured with a state of the art optics module and camera that track at 120/240/360 Hz. Another unique feature of the ASL system is that it can be configured as one binocular system, or with an additional headband, can be configured as two monocular eye tracking solutions. You can track two participants simultaneously with total synchronization of data.

ASL’s eye camera optics are housed on a lightweight, easy to adjust headband thatallows the participant to gaze freely in their environment with unrestricted freedom of head movement.

The monocles (“hot mirrors”) are attached to the adjustable head band with a two flexible boom arms. This allows you to adjust the monocle to reduce spectacle reflections and decreases challenges with corrective lens.

Unlike rigid stock attachments, the ASL flexible boom arms allow you the ability to position the mirrors to various angles.

The eye images and scene image are constantly displayed on two color 7 inch LCD monitors for your feedback and video collection.

The ASL system can collect the scene image with either a head mounted color scene camera or with a scan converter if stimulus is presented on monitor. With EYEHEAD integration (see detailed brochure),you can also collect the scene image from a remote scene camera.

The H6‐BN module connects to the EYE-TRAC®6 Control unit for a light weight head mounted eyetracker. It is designed to quickly and accurately track gaze position of all participants, including young children.Head mounted optics are recommended in situations where it is important for participants to have freedom of movement and/or where gaze must be measured over an unrestricted field of view.

The advantages of the H6‐BN head mounted solution are many:
• A comfortable but secure adjust‐able headband.
•A flexible choice of methods for capturing the scene image including a head mounted scene camera, scan converter (from computer image) or a remote (room fixed) scenecamera if EYEHEAD™ Integration option is used.
• Constant visual feedback throughout entire tracking sessions.
• Automated features with manual overrides for challenging participants.
• A method for directing the eyeimage to the camera with a small monocular beam splitter mounted to a flexible boom arm, providing the adjustability needed to capture a wide variety of participants over multiple viewing areas and conditions.
•A software Development Kit (SDK), which provides access to the eye tracker controllerport, serial out port, and to data files recorded by ASL interface program.
•A standard 15 foot cable connecting the optics to the control unit, with custom configuration available up to 50 feet.

The eye tracker provides constant feedback indicators superimposed on both the eye and scene images, allowing the operator to monitor the status and quality of the measurement.

The gazepoint can displayed as a cursor or a cross hairs on the scene image. Avideotape or digital recording of the scene image  can be created as a permanent record.Recorded data include time, horizontal and vertical eyeposition in relation to the head, and pupil diameter.External events marks can be recorded along with eye tracking data.

Data recorded with the EYETRAC®6 operating software automatically includes subjectcalibration data as well as all eye tracker
set‐up, parameter, and configuration information. The user is allowed to enter descriptive information if desired.

EYEHEAD™ integration
When combined H6‐BN optics with an optional head tracking device and ASL’s EYEHEA™ software package, provides participant’s gaze withrespect to stationary surfaces in the environment.Recorded EYEHEA™ data files report the identification number of the surface being viewed, point‐of‐gaze coordinates on the surface, distance from the eye to the surface being viewed, and pupil diameter.A maximum of 20 Surfaces can be defined.

If desired, other data can be included as well, such as position of the eye in space, and the direction of gaze with respect to room coordinates. Data is also available to external devices from the real time digital output port.

The head tracking device for EYEHEA™ integration can be any of several commercially available 6 degree of freedom position tracking devices.

Optional Equipment
The H6B‐N Optics is part of the ASL EYE‐TRAC®6 Series. The ASL EYE-TRAC®6 Series offers the most eye tracking configuration options. This provides the greatest flexibility for your reseARCh requirements today and tomorrow.
• The H6‐BN Optics can be configured with a multi‐speed high speed camera; with two optics modules for binocular tracking; and can also be mounted to a chinrest head restraint.
• H6‐BN Optics can be upgraded to incorporate remote optics, long range optics forfMRI, optics for virtual reality HMD’s, etc
• System components and software can be shared among collaborators for greater allocation of time, funding, and resources.

H6‐BN optics are portable and can be configured with a laptop as well as a PC.

Model HModel H--BN6BN6
High Speed Binocular Eye Tracking System

ASL Model H-BN6 is a complete eye tracking system for use in situations where the subject can wear light-weight, headmounted optics and must have unre-stricted freedom of movement. It includes all neces-sary equipment to begin work immediately. The sys-tem control unit is compact in size. The optics are lightweight and mounted on an adjustable headband. The scene is recorded with a color camera that can be mounted on the headband or on a fixed tripod. The images from the eye and scene cameras are displayed on three external 9” monitors. ASL EYEPOS operating software and EYENAL off-line data analysis software programs are provided for installation on a PC or laptop computer.

Data Output
The model H-BN6 is designed to measure a subject’s eye line of gaze with respect to the head. The meas-urement is displayed as 2 cursors or sets of cross hairs designated L and R superimposed on the image of the scene camera. A videotape of this image can be cre-ated as a permanent record and used for data analysis.

Recorded data include time, x and y position coordi-nates, and pupil diameter. External data events/marks can be recorded along with the eye tracker data. If the Model H-BN6 includes the optional magnetic head tracker, head position and orientation are also recorded.

Model H-BN6 EYEPOS operating software provides the system operator with the ability to enter calibra-tion and subject data, and specify the operating pa-rameters of the Model H-BN6. EYEPOS also converts the eye tracker data records into ASCII format for transmission to other computers of for off-line spreadsheet analysis.

EYEHEAD™ Combining Head Tracking
Data is available directly from the Model H-BN6 con-trol units through a serial port (RS232). The model H-BN6’s interface PC can be connected to an Ethernet network, permitting data analysis from remote loca-tions.

Data Analysis Software
Developed and designed for Applied Science Laboratories, ASL Results is an integrative software solution created to streamline your eye tracking results. ASL Results allows the user to view AOIs with dynamic heat maps, gaze trails and fixation plots. The user is able to gather data and statistics instantly generating graphs and tables based on the data collected.

Eye Head Integration
When combined with an optional head tracking device and ASL’s EYEHEAD integration software, the Model H-BN6 can also measure a subject eye line of gaze with respect to stationary surfaces in the environ-ment. Data files generated contain the identification numbers of the surfaces being viewed (maximum of 20 surfaces can be defined), line of sight coordinates on that surface, distance from the eye to the Surface being viewed, and pupil diameter. These data files can be analyzed by ASL Results.

Additional Features
The model H-BN6 binocular system can be used as two separate monocular head mounted systems,
when not being used in the binocular mode. The only additional requirement is a second head band and mounting bracket. In situations where the subject is to have considerable freedom of movement, a mobile configuration is available. In situations where it is not desirable for the subject to wear head mounted op-tics, and where complete freedom of movement is not required, the Model H-BN6 can be configured with a remote optics accessory, both monocular and binocular.

Training & Technical Support
ASL is committed to assisting reseARChers before, during and after the eye tracking data acquisition.

Unlimited technical support and free access to updates on the interface software are available at all times. Multiple licenses of the interface program are available at no additional charge.

ASL offers free scheduled training at our Bedford, MA (Boston) location for the life of the equipment. On site training is also available.
