Hamster motion capture
Syndicate Entertainment from Stockholm, Sweden has been a MVN user since May 2007. Syndicate is a visual effects studio, specializing in digital imagery for motion media with clients such as IKEA, Audi, Toyota, Kylie Minogue, Beyoncé, Renault, SAAB, Coca Cola and Nike. Syndicate was one of the first to use MVN for character animation in film.
Syndicate produced a TV spot featuring a hamster talking about houses and heating, for RWE, a large German energy provider. At first a real hamster was used, but even though it was supported by two professional animal trainers, the little creature did not quite meet the requests from the agency or the client. A CGI hamster was subsequently created and brought to life with MVN.
Syndicate: “The ease of use and flexibility of the MVN system are in a category of its own. The first thing we did when we got the motion capture suit out of the flight case was a quick animation test.” Read more about Syndicate’s experience with MVN on Syndicate.se.
